Put a bigger trans cooler on it, and possibly one with a fan too. Heat is the #1 killer of transmissions. Plus I have been a fan of the Chevy brand all my life, but if considering a new truck, look at Ford with the Ecoboost they are very impressive, and load are loaded with very nice features. Not sure what happened to my last post.

Careful with the EcoBoost. A lot of engines have been trashed because the owners assumed that since it has dual superchargers, they can pull anything. I talked to a Ford guy and he said the engines are over boosted.

did this overheating problem just start or has it always been like that.
