What I like the most about GSN has got to be the community base. Everybody here is very well mannered and nothing but a bunch of fun to be around, lots of very pleasant conversations have been had and are to be had without all of the hostility associated with those who wish to fight and argue over even the most basic of discussions. I've learned more about giant scale here in the past year than I have in several years on other sites- everything from setups, flying characteristics, techniques, maintenance, from top to bottom this website has helped my knowledge of big airplanes expand exponentially. Every time I've had a question I've always had very helpful responses that aim me in the right direction, rather than going off on a tangent on how I
should be doing things, rather than
how I can do something. This has all led me to getting my first 100cc and me having the confidence to know what I'm doing, with the assistance of my club members of course
Oh, and GSN's birthday happens to be on the exact same day a legend was born:
me!!!
If I had to find some flaws with the website I'd have to say that it's event coverage and build threads by everybody: We've had some really great event coverage threads posted here but I feel like there's certain aspects that are lacking- where are all of the videos? Interviews? New product spotlight videos? What about build video series? Sleepy had an awesome thing going when he built the giant scale Citabria but I never really got to see the end of that video series. Did it get lost or something?? The
other websites are on the ball regarding those aspects, so I think it's something we can
all improve upon. It's difficult for me to get those kinds of event or product coverage because I'm so far away from the major events, and I don't often put together airplanes.
I am attending the Lodi event in October and will have m photographer with me, so we'll be getting lots of coverage. And I have a new Pilot 100CC Edge coming, so maybe I'll do a video build series on that airplane
As far as my top request, I'm going to have to fall back upon what I stated in my last paragraph: more event coverage videos, more build videos, more hucking videos, even more contests! Something to keep the sites energy going, even if it's a free t-shirt giveaway. They've been sporadic so it's not totally dead, but having a contest every month even would be awesome. Mix it up some too, lowest knife edge pass, lowest blender, etc.
