One Trick Contest
Rules are simple.
Any pilot can enter with any plane. The bigger the better (fact of life… bigger planes get more wow factor… see below).
The entry fee is $10.
Each pilot with have the field to themselves during their two passes. Once they land the next contestant takes off.
Three judges will score the flights based on the following criteria.
Pilots will have two passes to try their best *trick. Pilots can choose to do two tricks or one trick twice. The best pass will be judged.
- Execution – 5 points
- Difficulty – 5 points
- Wow the Crowd – 5 points
- The average of the three judges’ scores will determine the contestant’s final score.
- The the cash pot is split 75%, 15%, and 10% to the top three contestants
Any dangerous behavior such as, but not limited to flying over pilots or spectators will result in disqualification and a surrender of entry fees.
*For the purpose of this contest a trick should last no more than about 5 seconds or one complete down-line. This gives time for quite a lot of action but is short enough that the contest can progress quickly. The time/trick will not be evaluated unless it is grossly abused.
