While we're airing the dirty linen I'll add two more that ended up fine, but could have been very ugly if it wasn't for dumb luck.
Last spring I was helping a friend with his DA200 powered Carf SU-31. We had just started it, pulled out the padded pipe restraints and he had just started to taxi out when he remembered we wanted to make a mixing adjustment in the radio. He shut it off and rolled it back to the start area and I grabbed the radio and made the adjustment. I gave him the radio back and he re started it. He had backed up a few feet and was looking at the transmitter and gave it a quick rev. Well, we had never put the pipes back in the ground and it shot forward. Luckily with my cat like reflexes (Yeah Right) I was able to grab the rudder before it got him. Neither of us said a word, we just looked around to make sure no one had seen how stupid we just were.
Last summer I had a similar brain fade moment. I was taxing my Carf Extra back in when some one standing at the fence line asked me a question and in a moment of pure stupidity I took my attention off of my moving airplane for a second and when I looked back it was going way too fast and heading straight for me and the fence. I grabbed the kill switch and nailed the rudder and it did a perfect 180 and ended up parking itself perfectly in the starting area. More pure dumb luck.
