Bling, bling for flying things.
There's always the possability of a giant scale sized ballistic parachute recovery system. In fact, I think it's been done...I'm hooking up cylinder head temp and receiver voltage to my MX-2 (Futaba radio gear). I was wondering.... with today's GPS equipment, if the receiver looses transmitter signal, can you make an airplane "return to home" and make a circle over the airstrip? I know you can do it with some multi-rotor setups, some can even land at your feet. I wouldn't want it to attempt a landing, but it would be nice to circle over me, trying to re-connect.
On second thought... I guess it would need a gyro also to accomplish that.
