do any of them cover 3d at all?

Not really. Even the AMA mag is silent on 3D.
Probably just a marketing reason.
Think about it

Circle flyers read magazines and look forward to information being published that is 8 months old.

Most 3D guys are younger and know about cutting edge equipment, airframes, maneuvers before they are even released.

3D is covered well on forums in my opinion. Only time we read mags are when they cover the big events.

+1 Agreed

I didnt think about that. So it probably wouldnt really matter which ones they put in the library where Renea works, or at least it wouldnt matter to me LOL.

I would be lost without the forums, thats a fact.

I too would be lost without forums but let be play devils advocate here. This is a 3DRC forum on that it is narrowly focused on 3D flying and that is why we are here. Libraries however are about research and learning diversity. Providing information encompassing the complete subject. Have you ever clicked on the Forums tab on RC Groups or RC Universe? Look at how many active groups of interests there are within this hobby. I personally think it is very useful to provide as much information as we can.

The problem is that even though we love 3D, (I just wish I was better at it), 3D fliers "are" really in the minority at most club fields, and magazine tend to go with what is seen at said fields. I receive all of the aforementioned magazine, and Model Airplane news has the most 3D coverage, BUT, it is mostly on their online newsletter, where they quite often post articles on how to do 3D maneuvers...

Quite truthfully, it's the same for guys that like to "build" planes, the magazines are having fewer and fewer articles concerning actually building planes either from true kits or plans (of which there are fewer and fewer of).

I still recommend getting "Flying Model" magazine, as, like the AMA magazine, it does cater to "everybody" (as to the different types of models), but it especially caters to the younger crowd (or other people that like low budget modeling), with many articles on BUILDING planes from plans, or kits. WE need these type of magazines, or one of these days there will be "nobody" that will know how to repair an ARF when it gets damaged.....

You guys seen the new Aurora 9X? It looks very similar to the current A9 but if your only complaint was latency than you'll be very happy. There are some other nice upgrades too. I like that it uses the current protocol but you can also switch to SLT for TX-R models. Here is a quote from Mike Mayberry about the 9X, "The latency is essentially cut in half when using the Optima Rx's and when using the new Maxima (non telemetry) RX it is 66% faster than that! 4096 Resolution as well! Dual processors are used so that the RF has one dedicated just to it.

SLT will open it up to a larger BnF market."
It also has a few more 3 position switches and some other nice features. I'm going to put a DSMX module in my current A9 and upgrade to this when it comes out. It is backward compatible but they will also work with new Maxima RXs which the current A9 won't be able to.

With the 4096 resolution you can finally put those Savox servos to the test.

They knew they had to fix the latency issue. Even though they denied it ever having one though, LOL. Its Amazing all the posts by people saying no one could tell the difference. I remember what happened when Joe told Mike that the latency was really bad on the radio. I remember his response too.

Well it's never been an issue for me but lower latency is always better.

Now he can complain to Futaba that the resolution is only half of the 9x

One cool thing i liked was that they are using their original protocol but you can also select the SLT protocol for TX-R helis and planes.

I'm a little disappointed. Just took my PTE36cc through the xray machine at the airport and they didn't even ask about it. I was fully prepared to have to take it apart.
