Long trip, lots of miles and I am beat. But!!!!!!! Before I take me an "old man" nappy nappy, How about a couple of teasers of a Behemoth addition to the Behemoth controlling hanger of Behemoth Yaks? I think I am just about due for a Behemoth House.

Now are these the most bad ass wheel pants you have ever seen? It was pretty much a done deal when I spoke to Steve before I picked up the plane. But I would have bought it "JUST" for the pants. LOL

First things first of course....making that Behemoth Elephants clothes fit. I will be starting with the covering shrinking first. I need to get this big boy done in plenty of time to maiden it before Tri-Cities.

Assembly/Build thread coming at you all soon.

That's the best looking Yak scheme I've seen yet. Those are some sexy pants too. . . . .. Hey Rob, is this Yak the same size as your other one? If it is, you ARE going to need a bigger house. . . . . :yesss:

Yeop...same size. Thank you. It sure caught my eye when I seen it up close. Especially those pants. Ya know? Terry and a few others have been dipping props, spinners and such. Why not go all out and do pants too? That would totally rock wouldn't it?

That's a great looking scheme there stang. Never been a fan of the yaks especially the bubble canopy ones but seeing schemes like what you have there are starting to make me like them a little more.

On the top of the list right now is a 28% Culp Special. I have another spare DA50 so that would be the power. As I design it I will probably be picking your brain about how things were done on your Pitts.

There are several bipe fanatics here that I'll be hitting up as well.:)

This is what I want to build.

That's a cool scheme. I've never seen that one before.
If the Behemoth Yaks Behemoth Brother needs a Behemoth Cousin let me know.;)

I just found out today that this needs a new home:(

Damn you. There ya go tempting me even more. Lol

I have to say, I really like the way a big Yak flies. They are great for floating in on slooooow harriers, they do awesome slow rolls and rolling harriers, they are stable and accurate. Yet very agile with the correct ponies up front. They look just, "WOW" in rudder touching hovers. I just like the way they look too. The scheme is a one off custom but I think it was derived from a combination of the Dalton scheme and the schemes that have been on some of the other Pilot airframes. I can see a little resemblance to both schemes that have been on my original. Still, it's kind of in your face stunning. It definitely needs some bad ass graphics. Do I hear any sponsors that would like a Behemoth bill board for advertising?

I had to do a little arranging in my rapidly diminishing space in my house. I don't suppose the space, (or the lack there of) has anything to do with too many less than small aircraft? Naaa....LOL. I opened up the new Yak tonight to take a little looksey inside. Ah, I do love a brand new plane.

Something about fresh wood and fresh covering really turns me on. LOL. I see a few things that will get "86'd" right from the git go. The cables for the pull/pull rudder will be tossed. As well as the pre-installed fuel tank.

There are a few things I want to do differently on this Yak. I still plan to build the rudder servo slots in the back of the fuse like my original Yak. I just have never been a big fan of cable pull/pull systems. But I want to do the cowl different. Baffling the 212 was a nightmare. Original design worked good. But after sending the 212 in to AI for the new crankshaft, I re-designed it with Daris Foam. Apparently it worked "REALLY" well as my temps were bone chilling cold on the 212. 162'ish on the right side cylinders, 173'ish on the left. So I will probably keep that design, but with a split cowl, it would be so much easier. When the 212 comes back this time, it would be nice to just bolt the lower cowl half in place, build the baffling around the engine and then be able to put the top half on like my Sukhoi. So that is one thing I want to change. @Jetpainter I could use a little "detailed" assistance if you don't mind. I probably will not open "all" the louver vents on the side of the cowl like the original Yak. It looked very cool in my opinion, but to keep the air flowing correctly, I am going to only open up the lower vents to help pull the air through the cylinders. If I open the top ones too, it may create too much negative airflow and restrict what goes over and down around the RED HEADED beast jugs. Another minor change I want to make is the venting for my fuel tank. I really liked what Doug did on his Extra and my son used something similar, so I think that is going to be a definite. Something else I want to do, is have my friend John build me some custom canister mounts like the one he made for me for my 50cc Crown Royal Edge a few years ago. Very much like Doug did on his Extra.

But first things first. As much as I want to jump in with both feet in the new Yak, I really "HAVE" to remove the 111 from the new Pilot Edge and reset the thrust angles.

Obviously you can't see it but trust and believe, 3.5 degrees down thrust and 4.5 degrees right thrust is just way too much. So that is first on the agenda this week. Get this done and then I will dive head on into the new Yak.

Yeah, that would be a LOT of thrust. I bet it did funky things when you got on and off the throttle.:oblong:
