    Welcome!

The BS that went on at NALL on Friday Night

This is said in a happy, good vibe, hangin with my bro's, ramblin' kind of way, so no offense intended. Common sense is what is needed the most, especially at the big events. One local airshow, if they didn't know you, you had to fly for them before hand to prove you were "qualified". It is kind of impossible to not fly towards the pits, at some point, the plane is headed there. I believe TOC had an entire sequence flown cross box. A rolling circle is an Imac maneuver, Now, high energy, right up in your face, stress test the wings, probably not the best idea. Low, slow 3D, a failure and the plane pancakes on the ground. Unfortunately, there is always going to be the risk of a plane having a failure and things going south like Mac's B-29, so some risk has to be accepted. MOST planes tend to fly at about the same speed, so a lighter plane has less energy and will actually do less damage, not that either case is not going to ruin your day. I think a one and done approach to would probably go a long way to preventing a lot of the stupidity.

Can't wait to get to Nall for the first time, SO DON"T MESS IT UP BEFORE I GET THERE!

Thanks for the update Sleepy. It does mean a lot that the person realized how huge of a screw up that was and turned themselves in. I agree, Mr. Hartness can forgive than I don't need to hear any more. The guy's on the grounds were ready to choke the culprit to within an inch of his / her life so it's a good thing they turned themselves in. This is a good thing for all of us that it is resolved:way_to_go:

I was shocked that they let a vote to allow to fly gas planes till midnight, and I regret I didn't vote at all and should of raised my hand to vote for 10pm, I didn't want to be the party pooper. Come on guys do you really need to fly noisy planes so early and so late! and now it looks like we all need to have 'cans' and 3 blade propellers for Joe Nall 2016. It will be required according to http://www.tripletreeaerodrome.com/news.php.

Thanks to those who did not have the common sense or respect not to fly the loud ones.

Most were considerate about prolonged full throttle flying.
A small handful, certainly annoying and inconsiderate seemed to enjoy prop ripping, in spite of multiple reminders at the pilots' meetings.
I just read the 2016 requirements, and it will definitely be a challenge to convert everything in order to meet all three requirements:
- Canisters
- 3 blade props
- Soft Mounted engines

Canisters and soft mounts are especially challenging when it comes to the weight penalty on 3D airplanes...

Herve, I believe it said canisters, 3 blade props and soft mounts were ways to make a plane quieter but not required.

So this is what it comes to
we were all asked to be responsible and keep the noise down and of course as usual there's a hand full of people
who have rip it up and down the line. now we will all be required to be quiet.

I pulled this from the Triple tree news letter
http://www.tripletreeaerodrome.com/news.php

JOE NALL WEEK 2016 – QUIET IS THE WORD!

Recent AMA articles have dealt with the issue of noise created by some of our models. Noise is certainly in the top two or three issues faced by many clubs around the world. If we, as modelers, wait for our neighbors to complain, you can rest assured the issue is significant.
To prevent ANY possible problems with our current and future neighbors, Triple Tree will require, beginning with Joe Nall 2016 to be “neighbor friendly”. Canister mufflers, three blade props, “soft mounting” of engines, and less than full throttle passes can all be utilized to make our models more environmentally friendly and will be a requirement for Joe Nell 2016.
Mr. Pat has donated this incredible facility to all of us modelers. We, as a group, have the responsibility to ensure it will be here for many generations to come. We cannot allow noise to be the demon that kills the golden goose. Plan ahead now to get any “prop ripping” models quieted down for Joe Nall 2016. We will have noise monitoring equipment on-site and will, for the first time, be monitoring sound levels. Gross offenders will be asked to terminate flight of any model exceeding AMA suggested noise guidelines. We must proactively reduce our noise footprint to ensure the long-term survival of “The Home of Fun, Fellowship and Hospitality”.
Thanks in advance for your help with this important issue.

I'm sure a better description of the requirements will be issued before the next Joe Nall
I have a new AJ Laser with a DA 70 header and canister with a falcon 2 blade prop
and its damn near electric quiet so why should I soft mount my engine or buy a 3 bladed prop.
When I'm already below the Imac noise standard.
It will be interesting to see what transpires in the coming year till the next Nall.
