Went out flying here in the Black Hills. We had one of the warmest days so far this year. We had out quite a few planes flew My AT-6, Extra 260, Red Dynum Waco, and my PT-17 my brother had 4 planes with him too. He has came a long way with his flying this winter. He was flying his Hobby Zone Aero Scott when I mounted one of my Go Pros on top of my PT-17. In the video if you watch close right at about 1:00 to 1:05 sec. he was flying North to south when I came in from the East going West Coming out of a split S dive pulled up and clipped the right wing on his Aero Scott with the prop of the PT-17 you can hear a click and a flash of white in the upper left of the video, it doesn't get any closer the this all that happened was the lose of about 1" of his right wing tip then we both landed.
Yes it is the E-Flite PT-17 The first two flights I made on this plane over a year ago was on a 3 cell 2200 Kinexsis 30c. At our altitude of over 4,000 ft MSL the vertical was only about 200 to 300 ft. With the 4 cell Admiral 2200 35c it was the difference of night and day and almost unlimited the 4 cell 2200 really make this thing come to life. There is nothing I like worse then an under powered Airplane. I have been flying this thing for over a year and 1/2 and have over 40 hours flying time on it I have replaced all the taped hinges with micro pin point hinges on all services due to failure of the factory bit of foam they leave when they cut the tapper then paint and after painting add the hinge tape that fails with a few hours of flight. The way I like to fly is balls to the wall and most of the time less then 30 ft. off the ground, and that is all I have to say about that. LOL!!!!That Stearman looks and sounds pretty sporty!! Is that the eFlite version? And on 3S or 4S?
