Python continues to go backward.
Ripped off more covering, sheeting and stringers on the turtle deck last night.
Soon will be time to start moving forward, but a few more issues remain.

Yes that looks like it is turning into complete rebuild, if it was mine it would stripped of everything and put away for the winter to be rebuilt. Collecting parts during the summer and go full speed at it for next summer. Nice project for the winter months.

Speaking of green, I have these old school green wheels I’ll probably use on it. And yes I plan to come up with some sort of pilot figure. Even it’s its just a crazy troll doll with a scarf.

I lucked into this kit for $20.00. So far, I’m liking it! Got most of the die cut parts popped out and trimmed up. The balsa parts were pretty easy but the liteply parts took a little more work.

Got new gaskets from DA, also another gasket kit for the carb, except this time I changed the diaphragm needle as well. Fingers crossed she runs like she used to.

Didn’t make much progress on the Pietenpol today. Had too much yard work. Then once I got to work on the Pietenpol, I realized some parts where missing. Ugh. Some of them will be easy to make. Like the firewall and landing gear blocks. But it was also missing one of the pre-shaped cockpit blocks. So I decided to tackle he hardest one first. Started out with a large block of balsa and trimmed it down with my miter saw. Then switched to my chisels, then the razor plane. Then the sanding block. Came out pretty nice. Much easier and quicker than I thought it would go too.
