Looks great to me. No reason to access the rear?

Looking at the mill today and was aghast at it's capabilities. The mill head can be moved forward or backwards. Tilted front to back and side to side as well as the entire head assembly can rotate clockwise/ counterclockwise. infinite options, just haven't looked at it much yet.

The current hold up is rebuilding the motor electrical box. It got knocked off during loading, I thought the seller was rushing and I was correct. Was tempted to ask for a discount. Anyway, wires are reconnected but something isn't right. The motor hum but doesn't spin.

Do you have the motor wired correctly for your voltage? It is a three phase motor, if the windings are not shorted to ground (Don't expect since it didn't flash!) and the windings have continuity (Possible one of the wire leads was pulled from the winding wire) there not anything else to go wrong. Three phase motors when connect to single phase have very low starting torque and will spin less than half the full speed rating.
I would;
Check the wiring is correct for your voltage.
Check that you have voltage on each phase
Measure the resistance between the phase to ground, should be very high
Unwire the motor and check the continuity for each winding, I assume there are six separate winding. Should be very low, an ohm or so. Nice finish by the way.

Sounds like you going to learn how to tram the head.

Looks like a job for @BalsaDust

Behind the wires there appears to be wiring diagrams for the different voltages. Somewhere on the motor there will be a drawing of 220 and 480 volt connections if it is not there.

Tony has nailed it down for the most part already but yes there appears to be a label on the inside of the peckerhead that will show how it should be wired for the different configurations. Hopefully its labeled based off the colors of the wires since I see none of the wires have proper tags on them.
