The weather has been so bad lately at least for the past 2 weeks very windy and rainy. The only thing I have been doing is driving to the flying field and mowing, this is getting bad, hope it will change soon. So while waiting for the weather to change I decided to sew up some wing bags two for the Kolm and one for a sport plane.

I was flying a few weeks ago as a guest in Alliance Oh. One of the fellows there was test flying a plane for another fellow, as he went through the switch assignment, he made a comment about the switch selection for the flaps and ignition. He thought it was silly to have the flaps and ignition next to each other, I have been doing it that way since 2014! Never bother me and never shut the plane off by accident. At any rate since then I think about ignition switch while deploying the flaps. I searched and found a three position switch with a locking mechanism, about $10 each. The new switch is a DPDT, I paralleled the contacts for redundancy and installed. The install below is my new spare radio, the flap is the first switch on the left and the ignition right next to it with the red tip..

A friend of mine crashed a brand new plane on maiden a few years ago when he accidently hit the kill switch. Got all of 30 seconds of enjoyment out of it.

I did it once but was super quick to react and hit the switch again and it fired back up... that one was close. I still remember it as it would have probably not made it back to the runway at that moment.
Might have been eyeing the new FrSky X20RS and saw the X20 Pro AW had some interesting slider switches and a locking two position switch. Personally I like having the switch on my left pointer finger, as when I'm hand propping I keep my finger on the switch just in case something unexpected happens and I need to shut it off asap... just feels safer to me to have the option.

I move the spring return switch from the right side to the left side and use that (SF) for the choke servo. With this set up I can hold the throttle closed with my thumb on the side of the stick and use my index finger to toggle the choke.
