Throttle trim switch is failing on my taranis. Figure it's a good time to upgrade to the M9 Hall effects sensor gimbals and give it a fresh paint job as I never cared for the color that's on it. So the question is to go with make it stone or hammered metal look.

Hmmm! You do posse some thought provoking quandaries.

I have always liked the Hammered look... guess I spent enough time that way when I was a wee laddie.

Not really, but sounded good.
I like the Hammered.

That's what I'm leaning towards but wanted others opinions as well.

Hammered!!! The glossy finish would be a good touch too... They make a black hammered finish that would look pretty sweet too

Black in the hammered metal would look good. I will look tomorrow at lowes when I pick up some stain for another project.

Posted original image again for reference. I think it looks awesome and with the white primer it helps lighten it up a bit. I found some of the black hammered metal look paint at walmart last night. Looking at the cap where they spray it to show the look though it didn't look very good. Looked more like paint that had fisheyed really bad from poor surface prep. Thought maybe it was that one can but every can looked the same so I opted to just stick with the silver.
What does everyone think?

Looks better! Why does it seem like the finish bubbled up? It shouldn't have that much texture right? Seems like the only time that happens to me is either the nozzle was clogged up a bit, the can was cold, or not shaken up enough. As long as it created a protective finish so dirt doesn't get in the nooks and crannies. Maybe some clear coat would help if that's the case?
I was just thinking a textured finish would be nice... last time I was out I was starting the DLE35 and I leave the transmitter in one hand and one finger on the kill switch, just in case... I was an idiot and when I flipped the prop the transmitter went to the ground!! DUR! I should be on the next Budweiser real moment of genius commercial... remember those? "We salute you: "Mr throw the transmitter on the ground while starting guy!" because without you there would be no excitement if in fact the engine fired up and the throttle stick went to WOT." I did have a rope tied to a rock... but still

The paint was supposed to do that. Called hammered silver. The texture actually does feel really nice too.

I've used the stuff before on metal, it gave a wavy texture that was smooth and glossy. Glad it worked out!!
