Anyone else hate working in the cold? :oblong: Lifting my Jeep so I can get out to more slope sites (ok that's not the reason, but's RC related so...). Only did the front, now gotta do the rear..
I have certainly done my share of mechanic work in the cold! I have put water pumps on in the snow, worked on cranes in the snow, dozers, cars, tractors, trucks, etc. I moved into Information Technology quite a number of years ago and I am SOOOOO glad those days of working in the elements are gone. Of course I have gotten older and don't care for the cold that much. :)

I am fortunate in my younger days I helped my dad work on cars and in the winter it was awful. The worst was in the winter when you put a car up on the hoist and had to do work on it the snow and ice would melt while working on it and run down your back and body. It was real good incentive for me to say in school and get an education, tough way to make a living.

Agree with you working on a car in the cold is no fun but I do not think it is that cold at you location there is no white stuff on the ground.

You're hilarious, this was 5 miles away just today :oblong:

And tonight the snow elevation drops to 1000ft- I'm at 1700

I don't mind it when it's for my own personal gain, but when it's for someone else...

Ha! I remember being 16 and laying on my back with a turbo 350 resting on my stomach. Lifting it "UP" by myself into the bottom of a '66 Bonny. (1966 Pontiac Bonneville 2 dr. Hdtp.) Bolting it against a 389 H.O. V8. Dead of winter, fingers frozen solid... and only the light of a drop cord to show me the way. LOL. I loved my cars back then. Between the 64 Grand Prix and a slue of others, ('71 T37 Lemans, '70 GTO Judge, '73 Challenger).... I had no time for girls. Only my hot rods. Winter time sucks when working on cars outdoors. But then, me and my pals didn't care. We were "TOUGH". LOL

Nothing a little alcohol wouldn’t cure! Good anti freeze! The worst was when you had to use air tools in that kinda weather!

Most of the time your "pals" would flee when it was cold and there was work to do. For some reason, you could not find them. It is amazing we actually got anything fixed in the cold because you basically had little to no feeling in your fingers. I would state that I miss those days, but I don't, although I did learn a lot back then!

Damn I'm hungry
Remembering the "cold" of my youth! I just soon keep it in the fire.

3:30am....Circleville, Ohio. Any given day in winter. 6 Degree ODT. Got to start milking 200 head before heading off to school.
4:00pm....16 Degree ODT.....Home from school to do it again.

SUCKS

Yes, that is pretty much the way it was. However I had good friends. I will say this much however. I do miss those days. Maybe not necessarily working on cars in the cold. But definitely the days of my youth. Oh the fun we had. and oh my goodness, the girls girls girls. LOL nothing like the tattooed pierced freaks of today's world.

Yea, I hear a lot of guys call it the good ole days but quite frankly this is the good ole days. Don't get me wrong, those days of past got us to where we are and I would not change a thing but not having to live that way at our age is most definitely the good life. I mean come on, which one of us old farts would even consider lifting a trainy into place now, in the best of weather? Hell no!!!
