Picked up a new project today. Just call me Oscar the Grouch without the Grouch part as I love other peoples trash. A buddy had an unfortunate run in between a EF 69" turbo Raven and the ground. It was destined for the trash if I hadn't said I would take it.
Broken wheel pant.
The left wing took the brunt of the hit. Right wing appears to be just fine other that the mount tab is broken. This left wing though I'm hopeful I can just pull the covering off the bottom, realign parts, wick in some thin CA, and add a bit of bracing here and there.
At first thought I was thinking I would need to order a replacement stab and elevator and the left side of the stab was sheered off at the fuse.
After getting it completely free though I noticed the ribs all have nice 8mm holes in them which a carbon fiber arrow shaft fit perfectly.
A little bit of patience and some 20 minute epoxy and I have the whole assembly glued back in place. Unless you are looking close you can't tell it was ever broken.
Didn't take any pictures of the fuse but somehow it survived almost unscathed. Two formers that are cracked and some of the sheeting around the landing gear area was pulled free but nothing a little bit of CA won't take care of.
