Ok needed some beveled balsa strips for the hinges between the ailerons and wing. They were so small that is was difficult to make, could not hold it and sand at the same time. So after some head scratching i built a small edge bevel cutting tool. It took some time and bunch of small iterations but finally it work really well. The only problem it is the perfect tool but once all the clamps are released the tool is no more. Thats ok I have all the parts just have take the time to reassemble all the parts.

Anyone mess with rockets? I've been playing with making this Estes Mega Der Red Max into an L1 cert rocket. From factory it comes with 1/8" ply fins that you're supposed to laminate balsa over to achieve a total of 1/4" of thickness, and it comes with 1/8" ply motor rings inside. They have it set up for a 3 engine cluster. But I decided to try an L1 certification on a single H100 motor with this so naturally I decided that 1/4" birch ply would work better with a custom fin cage. Just need a few more parts to make it happen :banana-dance:

Build a few for my grandsons several years ago, Big Daddy was one, used a D12-3 engine, about 1/10 that of the H100, should be interesting. The chute didn't deploy and it fell to earth unharmed.

I’ve met a few rocketeers over the years that were into the high altitude stuff. Pretty neat.

Built several Estes models back in the day. One of my favorite ones was the 2124 “F-22 Air superiority Fighter”
Brining back memories right there.
