So my ambitions got ahead of my abilities this morning when flying my mojo40. Tried to kick it into a KE right on takeoff and didn't have quite enough altitude when I rolled. Caught the wing tip crunching it really bad and cart wheeling the plane. Didn't break anything else though, even the prop survived the impact. Brought it home opened it up and went to work. As you can see the first two pics are all that was left of the inside of the wing and the last two are my repairs. Still gonna add some diagonal bracing but for just piecing it all back together it is incredibly stiff. Be back in the air in a couple of days to try it again.

I've been still been plugging away at my L4. Hopefully I'll have some more progress pics to show off this weekend. Had a little snafu installing the windows. Tried to save it but it just kept snowballing. So, starting all over again on the windows. Ordered a few different thicknesses of Lexan sheets. They should be here tomorrow. Then it will be time for round two on the windows.

Moved my entire life from MI to NC last weekend. Got damn lucky by noticing a bad crack (down to the wire mesh) in the airplane trailer I acquired the week before just an hour before we hit the road. Sunday 9am, noone was open. Finally got ahold of a fleet service company that came out and put new tires on. Surely would've had a blow-out!
So far, the only damage was the prop thru the bottom of the wing of my newly maidened GeeBee R3. The HK stand came apart and dropped the nose into the wing. =/ But everything else looks ok, so I'll take it. :)
Might be a week or so until I get a build table setup and working on planes again, but I already visited one of the local hobby shops and an unofficial flying site. :)

congrats on the move and new house. we just went through that a couple of weeks ago. new shop has lights and a bench, will maybe have a new project underway in a few days. the postman delivered 12m of Cub Yellow Ultracote yesterday so it won't be long before it's underway.

good luck with yours!

As someone who moved numerous times.....always remove gear/props/cowls when moving. On some planes I even remove mufflers.
