The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

I almost think I'd rather deal with the mess of glow fuel than deal with all the batteries for electrics. For some reason I just hate charging and managing flight packs. I've got a couple of small electrics but more often or not I leave them at home because I don't want to deal with the batteries.

I like the electrics for my backyard runway. I live in town but have a drainage ditch way back and a Field to fly over still.

I picked up a couple Fiji bottles in town to make a couple tanks. I got a 1 liter and a 700ml. That gives me 34oz in the big one and 25 in the smaller one. I think the 25 should be about right for my 91" extra, not?

The 25 ouncer is the same length as the 34, just skinnier.

I decided I'm going to do away with the pull pull on my Stinson. With the 40 Twin up front I think I'm going to need the tail weight. And I've never been a fan of pull pull anyway. Also, by moving the rudder servo out of the cabin it will free up some much needed valuable real estate. My RX should fit nicely in that location.

Stay tuned! I'll post some pics once I get started.

Finally attempted this baffling thing on a 91 extra I have been working on for a buddy.

I like the electrics because they're just simpler to maintain. I time my flights so that I come down around 3.8v/cell resting, no need for any battery maintenance other than balance charging. I made it simple for myself

I've done absolutely nothing! My divorce was finalized and it all worked out in my favor....believe it or not. So I get to keep everything I worked hard for, including my daughters.

So for now I'm working on gutting my home and decorating the way me and my daughters want to. That is priority 1. Next for my shop is building a nice sturdy work bench for my power tools (sander, drill press, bandsaw, scroll saw, grinder etc)
