Throttle Linkage Geometry

I prefer to set up a 1:1 ratio, with half stick holding the carb open to around 40%. Seems to take less throttle curve to smooth it out that way.

Basically exact way I set mine up. Adjust the throttle servo travel roughly before hooking up linkage, hold or block throttle about 40'ish % open, move throttle to half on TX and hook up. This leaves the bottom 25% still fairly jumpy which works great when your rudder is down in the rhubarb doing 3D stuff. I use the same setup for more scale flying and just learned to be easy and slow on throttle.

Wish I could be easy and slow on the throttle.

My curve is just the opposite of yours.

I have it set to be slow at the bottom.

I try to be smooth and steady with the throttle and rpm, but it comes on when I need it

on the top part of the curve.

I have a 9503 and use two curves generally.

Good stuff!

I'm actually glad you posed this question. I have been playing with the geometry and curve on my gassers. I think I just about have my 260 where I want it. Much like most, I have been using a 1:1 ratio and slowing the speed down on the lower end of my throttle transition. It seems to be working great. Throttle management seems to be much more refined.

Yes it does seem to be all in the throttle.

Next debate will have to be thumb versus pinch for better throttle management:eek-new:

Well I'm all in for that one. I have come to the conclusion that I pretty much...."SUCK" with my thumbs. Sure wish I could learn to pinch.:nevreness:

Oh I feel a "meme" comin' on.....lol

This is basically my method as well. I prefer a little more stick movement on the lower 1/2 of the throttle, and less movement on the top half. This seems to make my hovering and other 3D attempts smooth out on the lower half of the throttle which is where I spend a lot of my time.

* I may have not been clear here. My finished throttle setup is almost like I have more "expo" on the bottom half, and less on the top. I achieve this by skipping a tooth on my throttle servo, and adjusting the tx numbers. I suppose this may almost be like adding mechanical expo.
