Some background from Clark:
I've exchanged emails / txt / msgs with Michael and Jeff, haven’t been able to get ahold of Herve. As many of you know or perhaps just finding out Wenatchee RAF has decided NOT to host Huckfest this year. We all enjoy Huckfest and what it has become. We have mad respect for all the work that has gone into making the event what it is. In the spirit of this we would like to keep Huckfest alive, by no means are we trying to hijack the event. I enjoyed having it at Wenatchee as much as the next guy. We aren't looking to compete or be compared to Wenatchee. We will do all we can to make this the most kick ass event we have ever hosted. Most of what makes Huckfest what it is are the people.

There are few places in the northwest that are capable of putting on an event such as this, only two possibly three that I am aware of. Higgins Field (Miniature Aircraft Association) is willing to hold it at our facility. A little about our field if you haven’t had a chance to visit: it’s not the Taj mahal like Wenatchee but it is quite nice. There are two paved runways 45 degrees from each other with the flight lines back to back and people can fly from both at the same time without interference. There is now over 4 acres of grass, restrooms with flushing facilities (wives and girlfriends appreciate) and a shower. We have just purchased 2 spider boxes capable of powering 6 RV’s each and could possibly come up with another one by this event. We plan to have 2 to 3 light towers on site for night flying. There are no neighbors in any direction to give us any grief. You can fly early or late or just try to keep up with SupaTim.

We haven’t figured out what extent we will do for meals but so far we are looking at having tacos catered on Saturday evening since that seemed to be so popular the past couple years. We will most likely have breakfast available each day of the event (eggs, hash browns, sausage, and pancakes). Those who have been here know the food is always top notch.

Doug will be the CD and handling the parking reservations, you can reach him at dougbo@gmail.com; Parking spots are 1-19 on the left side of the main flightline and 20-32 on the right side with 33-50 on the second runway. If you and a buddy want to park two airplane trailers in a single spot you are welcome to do so, just let us know. Please be patient over the next week or so while we work on getting our ducks in a row. We will keep you up to date as things develop. Get your planes dusted off and your trailers loaded.

Ughhh... such a terrible name... how about TriCity 3D Jam, or Throwdown...

The A**HOLES have "claimed" the "Huckfest" name, and considering I actually coined the Huckfest name in 2006 with the Ohio Huckfest steeling it from motorcycle events in CA, I am personally offended at the arrogance of them.

SO what ya say.... HUCKFESTS ARE DEAD!

I agree! Maybe this could be one of the GSN "therapy" events?

If you got the name from an existing MC event then F*ckingGiants can't prevent you from using it. That event has prior art...

How can FG claim the name "Huckfest" ? The motocross guys have been using the name since the late 90's if I remember correctly.

At this point, thanks to my efforts from 2006-2014 it is associated with FG. And they can have it. Time for a fresh start.

That being said, I ripped it from the MX guys back in the day, and Max actually started using the word Huck before anyone. It's a shame but it's dead to me.
