Well after the work week from hell, I'm almost caught up and can start on mine and Greg's Vipers! I'm going to try to at least get started on hinging tomorrow to get that out of the way.
Here is a little highlight of some of the components that we will be using on these builds:
Those of you that have your kits can see that PAU is now including a fuel tank with all their planeshttp://www.GiantScaleNews.com/forums/images/smilies/198.gif There are a couple of things to check on them to ensure a long useful life so I'll try to cover that this weekend.
Also you may notice the new wheels! Metal rim wheels with a nylon insert so everyone at the field can't hear you wheeling your plane to and from the flight line! They are not terribly heavy for a metal rim wheel and the tire material seems good and / or equal to the previous wheels.
Both mine and Greg's plane will be using DA120 engines with J&A slick compacts purchased from here:

My engine is a few years old and is in route back from DA right now, should be here very soon with a clean bill of health and up to date on updates.http://www.GiantScaleNews.com/forums/images/smilies/198.gif
Greg is using the True Turn Ultimate spinner that is my choice, with lightened back-plate and a Menz Cut slot. It is also pre-drilled for the prop bolts. I have not tried a Mejzlik spinner before so I am giving one a try. It has a nice shape and a SUPER light back-plate. I may do some airbrushing on it to give it a little "custom" touch.
We are both running the same setup and a similar setup to what I have in my Viper prototypes (and all my 35% planes). A Spektrum power Safe RX, Pulse Batteries, SWB Arms and a Tech Aero IBEC
The Viper comes with un-painted carbon gear that has a very nice shape and is super strong.
And we will both be using MKS servos because they pretty much kick ass. Greg's are still in route, but we have plenty to do until then.
