I believe what I have now is 15mm tube. So far it looks like the motor mounts require 16mm. I need to put the plane fully together to see what the length needs to be. The current length tube that comes with the plane is about 32" So I am wondering if I need around 38-42 inch long tube to accomplish what I want to accomplish.

Just a small update on this project... Ordered two boom tubes yesterday. They should replace the stock carbon tubes that come with the kit except they will extend out to the front of the plane to hold the VTOL system. I also have the guys at the shop I work at to go through motors to see what is the best to use. Luckily they are wanting to see if this autopilot system is able to do it. The company I work for basically were one of the first successful companies to do VTOL UAVs in this configuration.
Slowly ordering parts. Once everything gets here I hope to get started!

Both it will transition to fixed wing once in the air.
