Assembled the flaps and ailerons on both wings. Going flying this morning so the paint will get another day to cure before the wing walk is painted on. I think the corrugations were worth the effort now that it is painted, I was having doubts last week!

I ended up sanding the flat black paint down and covering with a coat of matte black rubber peel paint. It was masked to allow removal of fine line tape as soon as the painting was completed. I tried the peel paint first and allowed the paint to dry, when the masking tape was removed some of the peel paint came with it.
I like the looks of the peel paint better the the flat black paint

Quick update, sourced 3 watt LED's for the lights, still need to work out all the details but the current plan is run 24 gauge power wires along with 30 gauge SBUS and Smart Port wires to the wing tip. A receiver will be mounted in each wing tip,the 24 gauge power wires will power the receiver as well as the green and red LED's. The LED's will be switched by a pulse width switch plugged into the receiver.
Assembled and tested out the code for the telemetry sensor hub made from a Seeduino XIAO board. The hub has six temperature sensors, one voltage sensor, and one RPM sensor, still have room for two more inputs. The finished unit will use surface mount resistors rather than those shown in the photo and have a pin rail on each side of the board.

Did a little work on the fuselage today. Applied package tape to the cowl for release and filled the transition between the cowl and fuselage with a mixture of epoxy, milled fiber and coolidia silca. This will get finished with other filler material once the epoxy cures.
Ordered .015" styrene to finish the side wall of the interior, never used it before, we'll see what happens. First day of fall, building season is here.

I saw summer ended this afternoon. It now becomes a countdown until spring. Every day one day closer to warm weather……

Sanded the epoxy down this morning and filled the low spots with autobody filler, while I was at it put a little more filler on the Tri Pacer cowl that was started some time ago. Decided to put some primer on, let the sand, primer, sand, prime.... begin.m_IMG_4266.jpg
