this is a difficult issue for me both as a modeler that loves to build and as a guy that hosts a site that includes a lot of assembly threads. we try to encourage everyone to show their projects, regardless of what they are, so that the people that think they can't do it will see it's easier than they realize. obviously the actual kit/plans/scratch builds are a higher order of complexity but there's a lot that goes into a really nice ARF assembly also. so it's my job to recognize the efforts of everyone here and to encourage everyone else to at least take a look, learn what they can, and to give it a try themselves at some point.
i put a lot of thought into every single detail of the site. me personally, i think about everything, sometimes constantly and so i appreciate the feedback like what is happening in this thread.
the problem is though, if i were to break off the kit/plans/scratch builds and put them into another section of the site then each of the separate sections becomes less busy and therefore less interesting. i suppose I could break out kit/plans/scratch builds into a separate sub-forum within the Building Boards area of the site but even though I could I don't know if it would be optimum for the site. let me think about it.
also in the build theme i love to see resurrection builds where crashed or really old planes are deconstructed and then rebuilt and made flyable again......just sayin'
