Wings and Warbirds Over Port Clinton, August 22 – August 23, 2015.

This event was not only a RC airshow, but also a full-scale airshow. You could even purchase a ride on a B17. These pictures were taken over both days and I try to show you through the pictures the activities you can watch or even take part in. The event coordinators kept event happenings moving along and for the 6000 plus attendees provided plenty of good entertainment. In my pics you will see plenty of the RC and full-scale Airshow along with static displays of various airplanes and other military hardware at the onsite museum, Liberty Aviation Museum.

RC flying activities included many different scale planes and helicopters. There were several turbine powered (Jets) planes and even one turbine powered glider that took flight. Some top aerobatic pilots present put on a RC aerobatic airshow that caused the crowd to be completely captivated by their performance.

Full-scale activities included many fly overs by various warbirds. Full-scale activity also included aerobatic flight of a Super Decathlon and Formation Aerobatic Flight by Redline Airshows.

During the opening ceremonies on Saturday, there were fly overs by a Grumman TBF Avenger and T51’s.

In the Liberty Aviation Museum, you’ll see two restoration projects underway. A Ford Tri-Motor and a WWII PT Boat.

On a curious note, during opening ceremonies, blanks were fired. You’ll even see two kids picking the brass up afterwards. If you backup to the picture when they were being fired, you’ll count one more “shell casing” in the air then men firing their rifles. The extra “cartridge”, when zooming in on the original, is actually a bird.

Towards the end of the pics, you’ll see Andrew mounting a GoPro at the wing tip of his plane. If you would like to see the video result, a link below is provided.
