I am trying to get rudder to move same degrees in each direction and ultimately servo do the same thing, so I can match the other two servo's to do the same and be linear. But to get the rudder to move same degrees, I end up with travel 100 or so on one direction and say 130 the other direction. I was planning to use Dubro horns on all surfaces and get all these servo's working together BD not fight each other... Is there a formula for putting the 8/32 stud/ horn in the right place to line up correctly with servo? Thanks, Vann

First thing, get rid of that clevis. That's the first thing I had @Jefflesh do on his plane. Put a DUBRO clevis with a DUBRO ball link on there. Then we'll go from there. That thing is so long it is messing everything up. DUBRO has those too, but they are designed for smaller planes. When you go to push on those they bow and flex. They have no place on GiantScale planes, imo.

Yes... although... how big is this plane? You may want to go to 10/32. On my 122" Pilot I ordered some 6" 10/32 hardened steel all thread rods from mcmaster carr... they are stout. Then I used the DUBRO horns you have the link to in the 10/32 size.
Thanks Joe, yes I should probably use the 10/32, it's one of the Aerotech 55% 260 that Sensei Designed with beefed up fuse and clipped wings. I guess the next issue is using clevises like this on the other surfaces ,the pivot point will not be on the hinge line...... Thanks, Vann

Ah, Sensei, I like that guy! Here's a shot I took of his plane at the 2002 TOC:

pivot point not in the hinge line... that's how I like it. :)

I'm going to try my best to achieve this on the control surface, but it ain't gonna come close on the rudder. So.. I'm assuming on rudder If I'm moving servo 50 degrees one way and 40 the other to end up with control surface moving same amount in both directions is okay as long as other servo on surface moves same degree? Thanks for the help Joe.....
