Just got back from Nall. Very nice in the 3D area and the pilots were really bringing it. I would have been pretty intimidated by some of the things going on when the pilots started going at each other if I had been able to bring planes. Apparently early in the week they came down on the 3D line to enforce the pilot stations and it seemed to mostly work. 7-8 airplanes at once is just asking for trouble, especially with giant scale stuff in the mix.
I was disappointed that not many people were over flying over the water.
They German jet guys came down and put on a great show, especially the J10. I am sure there are some great pictures of that out there somewhere. 3 smoke generators going, on the deck over the lake.
It was very interesting comparing the main flight line to the 3D area, which are VERY far apart and how different the cultures were in the 2 areas. Kind of a macrocosm of the situations we face in our local clubs. Although Daniel Holman made a impression on some of the scale folks during the noon demo.
The float flying areas are just plain cool. I saw Noll, Joe, Mike (crashes a lot), and others slink off to have some fun with fun cubs, icons, and some hover boat thingy at the end of the 3D lake in the evening yesterday.
I wish I had the RV setup to do the experience up right. Just not into camping.
