How would a EME 60 do on this airframe? Does it compete with the da 60?

To answer your question- the eme would absolutely compete with the da... at half the price, you'll get nearly the same amount of power and from the reports, a little bit smoother of an engine.. as for reliability and customer service, that is yet to be seen since it is a new engine.... if you are debating between the dle or eme, I would go eme... between the da and eme. Well the da is a proven badass motor but it's also ridiculously expensive so that makes it a much harder decision.

Well I guess I really dont know why I would go with the DA because of the absolutely outlandish price if the EME is a good engine too... Off the subject a bit but do you just use standard petroleum based engine oil when breaking in
a engine or whats the good thing to use?

As I said, my EME is working well now, and it's a good engine. I believe the DA is still more powerful however, and that seems to be confirmed.

Next time, I'll go for the proven design if I can afford it... And if I can't, I'll try and save up. :)

After some research into them recently, DA is a company I'd like to support if I can afford to. Their price is significantly higher, but reflects their outstanding warranty, their outstanding customer service, and it's 100% made in the US.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to come across against the EME, I own one. I just want to try the DA next time. I think you get what you pay for... But you gotta pay for what you can afford!

By the way, Santi, how many flights on your EME so far? : p

0, that's why I said "from the reports" in my post... he asked if it would compete and nobody answered the question well..

Just my 2 cents here on the motors and not trying to change your mind or put anyone down, just something for you to consider. So I have been flying RC since 1971 and through out that time there have always been products that were high quality and sought after and substitutes that did the job pretty good and cost less.

I remember my first quality motor, a Webra speed .61. I was flying an Enya .60 in the day and I was happy with it and in fact it cost about half the cost but when I got the Webra I was on cloud 9. When I bought my DA-60 it was because it was a DA-60 and yes it has uber power and yes DA has the best service. You never throw away money when you buy quality. I don't know what planes you fly but many hear as I do limit my planes to 3DHS and Extreme Flight, and there is a reason. There are many planes out there for half the cost and some say they fly "almost as good". Research and set your mind to what you "really" want and wait and save for it and I mean that whether you want a DLE, EME or DA but decide what you "really" want and wait to get what you want. You will be much happier in the long run. Don't make concessions based on cost, I know because I have and most of the time it costs you more.

For what it's worth I could have bought 2 Powerlab 8's for all of the crappy charges I have had. Once I tried Motrolfly motors I found out "why" as well.

Well I have a question... I don't have the money for the DA right now but I could afford a EME. Would you save up for the DA and let the plane set for awhile or just go with the EME now? I cant decide what is gonna be my best bet here.

We can all offer our advice on that, and it doesn't matter... You gotta sleep on it and figure it out for yourself. You have to live with the decision, not us :)

FWIW, that is what I will be doing (saving up) for my next 60cc engine purchase.

What Gary said. Sleep on it but most of all decide what you want and make that happen. For what it is worth I waited a year to make my 87" happen.
