Aerobeez 90" Extra 330SC (50cc)

First and foremost, I want to thank Alan for sending me one of the very first production versions of Aerobeez new 90 Extras!!!

I feel kinda weird posting these pics as the plane isn't even on his website yet, and this is the first public photos... But he invited me to post the exclusive photos and build here on 3DRCF, so off we go:

As usual, the coffin like carton Aerobeez uses arrived dinged a little on the outside, but pristine on the inside.

One thing I think is great, is that they managed to get an 90 airplane into one box. Instead of paying $150 + in freight fees, this plane ships via normal Fedex or UPS ground, saving you serious cash! This baby ships for well under $100!

Aerobeez 88" Extra 330SC (50cc)

This plane looks so good, I couldn't resist putting it together for some quick photos:

This plane's fit and finish are impressive. Even comparing to the beautiful 71 Extra 330SC I have, this one is a step above:

The covering is perfect as far as I can tell. Everything is symmetrical and straight, and looks beautiful.

The wing tube and stab tube are much tighter than other Aerobeez planes I've built, they seem to be making engineering improvements with each new release!

One thing that I noticed right away, something that is new to this size-class model (and that is across ALL the vendors out there AFAIK) are these strong Phonelic plates on the elevator/stab base where it attaches to the fuse:

This will help greatly with keeping the tail tight during aggressive 3D maneuvers, and also prolong and protect the mounting tabs from being broken.

Also, a basic, but very nice and definitely useable graphics package... Also rare for planes of this size.
Along with the beautifully painted and heavy duty wheel pants, thick and nicely finished carbon fiber landing gear, standard heavy duty ball links and turnbuckle rods, etc, etc... this plane comes with all of goodies you've come to expect from a manufacturer like Aerobeez.

The firewall is pre-sealed, and the plane comes with a pre-installed fuel tank.

I like the pre-sealed firewall. I love the looks of that plane, btw. She's looks like she's going 100 mph just sitting there. Assuming she flies as good as she looks I think aerobeez will have a winner! :)

I agree gentlemen, she does look beautiful, and FAST!

I'm gathering the necessary stuff together to start the build today.

The hardware package as mentioned previously contains everything you need, and I noticed another small detail but nice improvement... The brass crimps. You can see on the right one of the crimps from my pervious 3 Aerobeez planes, and the new longer, thin walled brass on the left, which is MUCH better.
It's little things like that which make builds easier and cleaner...

For electronics, we're going with a Spektrum 9 channel and telemetry setup for main battery voltage and electric motor temps in real time.
Motor Power will be channeled through a ZTW 150A Gecko HV ESC.
Servos will be Savox SC-1268SG, for 347 oz/in and blistering .11 transit time on 7.4v!

ImageUploadedByTapatalk1393697172.710780.jpg

We're going with some Miracle extensions from AeroBeez on all our servos.

ImageUploadedByTapatalk1393697683.162680.jpg

Connecting these servos to the flight controls will be hardware from Aztechaeromodels, the Spot-On v2 aluminum arms and Secraft pull-pull tensioner and coupler

She's getting a brand new Motrolfly DM-5330 from Subsonic planes... 5000+ watts of instant power!

ImageUploadedByTapatalk1393697515.579450.jpg

Also going to use the bulletproof Fromeco Wolverine switch for the receiver packs.

I think that's everything, so time to start building!
