Well the elevator servos are in, took some doing. Had to do some sanding, filing and a lot of wiggling to get them installed. They are in and never to be removed. Got them all set up and the throw setup.
Trying to buy a 3 inch off set ruder servo arm. Not having much luck. My next job is to get the rudder setup installed.

No luck finding an offset arm? Most don’t make a 3” offset, you’ll have to get a 3.5” offset.

Spent some time on the Timber. Got the home made motor box installed and bolted down. The motor box is built to fit XPOWER 40cc motor with a 20-10 propeller.

Not getting done to fast right now waiting for some rudder parts and some connectors from Booma, then I can get going again. Have to get this done so that I can start the 20cc scratch build 20cc profile for next summer.

@AKNick just pulled the wing struts out of the box. Wow cannot believe how heavy they are. All they did is take a an aluminum tube pinch the ends and done here you go. Not well engineered trying to think of something different or how can improve this with the stuff I have laying around the house. Have you given this any thought.

I know... keeps the cost down I suppose. I just had a blind nut fail in one wing half so yes... I dislike the time it takes to take them on and off. The lower fuse bolts are tricky to slip in place with the XCub gear.
I was thinking of glass coated foam struts with blocks in them for 4-40/M3 ball links. Or even attempting to make a magnetic pin system like my sKywing ARS... that would be so cool.

Got my video down to under 5min. Now I need to make transitions, captions, and bonus fun stuff.

Can you explain more on the magnetic pin or a picture please.

Basically a steel pin with a step in it. Pin goes through the attaching part into the fixed part that has a retained hollow disc magnet. Hard to explain, but if you look up skywing magnetic pins you’ll get the idea. Same concept with magnetic fuel dots

On a different note I was playing with a different tailwheel design incorporating a 3” wheel and music wire. . . Not sure. Might make it fit the existing tailgear instead.

VIDEO! :fist_pump: Enjoy!:epic:

This is about 30min of video compressed into 5min. Got a couple flights in before the tide was going to leave me stranded, so I packed it up and headed home. The wind was calm in the video, and was a beautiful day on Oct 13th. GoPro Session camera doesn't give this nine foot wingspan any justice, and the huge tidal flats sure doesn't help! Can't wait to get out there again! Plane has seen at least 15 flights now.
