Well making some progress decided to do the top stringer across the top of the plane out of one piece. It is made up of four 3/32 by 5/8 wide strips. Wetted and soaked until it fitted in. Will let dry over night then take it out and then glue it all up and put it back in the jig.

That’s one way to do it. Should actually be stronger that way once glued up just takes a little longer to do. Nice job.

What size batteries and motor did you install in the plane

3542 outrunner with a 2200mah lipo. KV of the motor is dependent on wether you want to run 3S or 4S lipos. I had a motor originally listed at 900kv which should have given me decent performance on a 12x6 prop running 3S. Ended up having to run a 13x6.5 to get ok vertical. Switched out to a 4s on a 12x6 prop and got the performance you see in the video so I think the motor was closer to a 800kv wind. Kind of the luck of the draw when buying cheaper parts.
So I would say if you want to run 4S look for a 800kv motor and turn a 12x6
For 3S go for 900-1000kv and turn the same 12x6
And lastly if you want the plane to be stupid loose then go up to like a 1100-1200kv on 3S and turn a 11x6. This will make the plane fly faster when trying to do low and slow stuff but the smaller prop will help a lot in high energy stuff.

Once I get this built down and in the air I will at your door step for all the info and drawing details.
Hopefully tomorrow I can finish all the cut parts and start building the fuselage. That will be a nice change. Just have make a ton of sticks 3/8 by 1/4 and 3/8 by 3/8.. will take a photo of all the parts.

Making some progress just been cutting and making sticks. It’s amazing you never have what you need. 1/4 by 5/8 is a odd size so spent most off the day cutting up blocks and stickers so that I can build the plane.
The picture shows all the wood ready made but nothing has been glued still need to make few more splices and hope then I can start doing some gluing.
It’s amazing I can build an 120 cc ARF in a tenth of the time it takes to scratch build this little 20cc plane, but everyone is amazed when show at the field with a big ARF.

Looks great. Don't forget the lightening hole in the block at the tail. Every bit of weight removed back there helps. Man I have to say the laminated top piece looks amazing.

Did a little gluing and a lot of fitting. The two plywood side plates have been ground with a radius on the inside of both plates and the tube fits inside nicely, took a little bit of time but it is done. Will have a good glue joint with the carbon tube.
