These carbs are sent out with the fuel intake pointed anywhere but at the fuel tank. But the pumps are strong so I just plumbed it up. Had to drill a hole in the snorkel to keep the fuel line away from the mufflers:

Yesterday morning, labor day morning, I sent an email to Aircraft International asking about it, out of curiosity. I didn't expect to hear back on a holiday. But, Gerhard replied back in minutes saying they do come that way from 3W Germany. But, he said that you can carefully rotate them. I tried but didn't think I could get it to rotate without breaking it. I emailed Gerhard again and he replied saying that if I wanted to try harder and ended up breaking it he would send me a new all steel after market fuel intake nipple. I then had the confidence to go ahead and turn it. It turned, thanks Gerhard!

It is worthy of mention that the fit of the wings and stabs, and the wing tubes & anti-rotation dowels, and the cowl & canopy, is flawless! Has that master builder custom plane fit. Nothing to adjust or dremel... perfect out of the box.

Plane looks ready to go, but there's still a lot of work left to be RTF. And, most important, the graphics are not all here yet! ;)

Still I'm thinking photo-shoot (probably not 100% RTF) on Friday. Maybe maiden on Sunday after wrenching on it all day Saturday... we'll see.
