The connectors are Powerpoles and are well liked among Amateur Radio users (me) and other electronic hobbyists. www.WestMountainradio.com carries them and the tools to install them should you ever want to use them. They aren't cheap and they handle high current very well. FWIW.....- Dan767

Gas engine backfire
An over rich mixture at engine start can cause the problem you're having. An engine near flooded will do just as you describe. I had this problem with my first 3W-106. You can run the 6014 HV. If you decide to use the 7008: You will need a hub. See the links. Use a HV servo for the throttle and either plug it directly into the rx or the hub.
