DLE-55 spitting too much gas back .

The low needle is a bit too lean. Richen it in small increments until it comes back to normal idle speed when you chop the throttle.

If you get a drone for Christmas!

Undoubtedly, some will need to be beaten, and their "drones" taken away. I agree with Dooinit, ignorant people and idiots will cause continually increasing regulation and restriction until it's all outlawed. It is far from over.

motor box top plate - ok to use screws or is epoxy a must

You are 100% correct. Torque and vibration are the forces we need to build and counter for.

question for anyone on a tool to do a job

1/2" sanding drum on a Dremmel would do it pretty quick.

motor box top plate - ok to use screws or is epoxy a must

Uh yeah, that ain't gonna work! You've already cracked the firewall where the bolts go through the pieces of Al angle. You should make the pieces fit better before tightening them down. You also need more bolts/screws, fasteners are your friend. Lastly, never put a screw into the edge of any...

motor box top plate - ok to use screws or is epoxy a must

If the top of the box is lock tabbed, I put tri stock around the perimeter, harden the tri stock and the motor box lid with CA, then use four screws per edge. If the lid isn't lock tabbed, I epoxy and pin it to the tri stock around the perimeter and cut the access hole pictured above.

Your Opinion-This is not a "Which radio is best" thread!!!

Seriously, I love the Airtronics S10G. Don't know if others have improved theirs but at the time I got mine it had the least latency in the industry. It was so different and fast to react to input I had to make big adjustments in my timing. And for a 50" plane going 200+ MPH around pylons it was...

    I don't always use a Tx, but when I do, it's an Airtronics SD-10GS.

    VVRC 40 Twin Props

Sorry, I haven't been there for over three years. No clue as to the day to day happenings at VVRC. But if you call and talk to Tom, Linda, or my favorite sister with different mother and father, Tammy, please give them my best!

Engine Gurus Unite -> I need HELP!

Personally, I don't try to get them to hold water. just flat with good even contact all the way around the reeds. The 55 reed cage is bigger than the 30 so if you fill it up there's more pressure pushing on the reeds. The reeds are about the same thickness and stiffness so the extra water...

DLE-111 Three Year Inspection & Overhaul

Well, I'd post a picture for you but I'm not at home and won't be for at least a couple of weeks. But it's pretty much exactly what it sounds like. The V2 DLE111 has a tendency to fray the tips of the reeds because they are too flexible. To prevent the dynamic flexing that causes them to...

Good thing you checked it before the previous incident repeated itself. BTW, that reed block could use the same treatment you gave the one in the 30.

425 NE Spring St. Everything else is the same. In a general sense, my official title is Propulsion Specialist, my official responsibilities are in R&D, but it's much more complicated than that. They have to put a label on you though, I know you know what I mean. And I know you understand that I...
