    3DHS 60" Yak-55

This off the 3DHS owner`s group thread on facebook from Joe Smith. He apparently did most of testing on this airframe... passing it along for non facebookers...

    3DHS 60" Yak-55

Thanks 3Drew...It is what it is at this point...Gyro just helped me get my Velox were I wanted it so I`m not doing another motor, battery swap..Mine doesn`t fly bad by any stretch, but I think I like a more floaty airframe.. It does roll great and has awesome power...I`m gonna keep tooling with...

Oh, I know....Like I said I`m pretty close on that one way or another..

    3DHS 60" Yak-55

Well, that is how you do it....Everybody has their own way...I fly 3D as well as some pattern stuff mixed in so I like it that way. The winds are like 10-15mph here and usually a crosswind. The plane flys better overall like that even if it doesn`t hover/harrier as well. Its just a touch and I`m...

    3DHS 60" Yak-55

I will...It wouldn`t be this first plane I didn`t like at first.. I usually run a slightly more forward CG in the winter to deal with the wind here in Georgia.. Even with 35grams in the tail I`m still slightly nose heavy. I might have to add more or move the rudder servo as suggested to get it...

    3DHS 60" Yak-55

I don`t have any videos, but after flying it a bit I`m not super happy with it. It flys well when you keep the speed up and it does good flat spins and knife edge, but mine does terrible elevators as the nose just drops unless you add a good bit of throttle..Even with the SFGs it hard to handle...

    3DHS 70" Velox

I would say that is a total..I`ll fix them if the wing tube is still intact..unless you have all the small parts to piece that back together forget about it. I have put two kits on my 51" slick and still flys exactly the same, but my wing tube wasn`t missing...order a fuse..my 2 cents..

    What's Up With 3DHS??

I do see people complaining about them on several places on the internet, I honestly don`t have any problems with them..I pre-ordered my last plane and it got here about a week late(no biggie) and when I emailed them about parts for it I received an email back in 24 hrs. like I always do...They...

Yeah, it helped a lot with SFGs on...without, it has a good bit of wing rock...

    3DHS 60" Yak-55

Something I didn`t notice about it and it was pointed out too me is the size of ailerons...I had to take some throw out of mine(less than 100%) to get a better handle on the thing...I don`t normally like SFGs, but I like them on this one...Its a fun little plane overall.

    3DHS 60" Yak-55

No that may actually work perfect..Just looking at the weights of the Nano techs on HK site and the 6s is heaver than the 4s.. 3Drew where did yours balance out at? was weight needed?

    3DHS 60" Yak-55

Oh, it was a good tip...I also added a sheet of ply for a better battery tray..Not sure if Gyro and I are the only guys doing this? You can literally rip the tray out of one and become a lawn dart when the battery ejects...I add 1/16 sheet ply to the tray and mark it with a sharpie and ruler to...

    3DHS 60" Yak-55

Oh, that is a good idea...I have it mounted on top of the motor box. I honestly have everything all mounted so I`ll probably not mess with it. The 1 oz. of weight is not the thing holding me back from the XFC, its my thumbs...:D

    3DHS 60" Yak-55

My AUW is 86 oz...I added a 1/2 oz in the tail and I figure I need to add may be another 1/2 to make it neutral. I don`t see why mine would come out nose heavy... I`m using a Castle 100 amp ESC with internal BEC, 5245 hitechs, 4016t motor, and 6s 3300s....I even made a tray and mounted the RX...

    3DHS 60" Yak-55

Yeah, adding a RX pack on a 60" is odd. I normally don`t like to add weight and never needed to on any other 3dhs planes , but it will be fine...Guys were having to add weight to a EF 64" MXS for the same thing...nose heavy..Tweak on yours a bit 3Drew and get back to us.

    3DHS 60" Yak-55

I just don`t like EF as much as 3dhs even though they are like 25 miles from my house and I don`t pay shipping...They do fly great but I like the way 3DHS does there landing gear mount over a EF.. Plus a lot of EF planes have a huge canopy. Good luck with the EF Yak...you`ll like the 4016T...

    3DHS 60" Yak-55

I love the Velox, but its a considerably larger plane than the Yak even with the 10" wingspan.. Mine seemed down on power until I reset my ESC end points again yesterday and picked some power up. Maybe I need the motrolfy instead of the hacker...It has decent power, but not insane and it shows...

I got a hacker a50-16 now...Is a motrolfly that much better.? night and day?
