If at all possible, I would love to be there for the maiden.

Just don't work fast Doug. My daughter is getting married May 30th. So I'm booked up till sometime after the wedding.

I've been doing a little work here and there. I glued my rudder servo tray in place and drilled and installed some 1/8" carbon fiber rod through the sides of the engine box into the firewall. I also installed some triangle stock on the backside.

When I used the carbon fiber rod to strengthen the landing gear plate, I didn't like the way it turned the wood black when you sanded them flush, so this time I fuel proofed it first to seal the wood. We'll see how that does when I sand these flush. I'll do a little more fuel proofing later on after I cut a hole in the firewall for the carb.

Other that that all I've done is order a few things I needed. The tuned pipe mount I'm using is from TroyBuilt models. The o-rings that I have for securing the pipe are too long and it looks like TBM quit carrying them. I ordered some from McMaster-Carr along with a box of prop bolts and some #1 screws. I ordered some stuff to build an instrument panel and I also ordered another pilot bust so I can make up my mind just what size I need.

@Jetpainter,
Would you please post pics of the LG mounting plate mods you performed? That or an informative description.
I just went back through the thread and I didn't see the landing gear work so I went through my phone and found these.

I used the 1/8" carbon fiber rod to secure the plate to the reinforcements and the reinforcements to the sides. I still plan on adding a piece of triangle stock on the inside.
