I always preach using only 2 part catalyzed products when painting. They only singe part product I use is the SEM Self Etch primer I talked about. Well, this is exactly what happens when I don't follow my own advice. The Lacquer based spot putty I used to get rid of some seems cracked.
So, I spent a good part of last night sanding it off. Thankfully it mainly only did it on the elevators on the flat inside ends where it's against the stabs, and the area that's angled for the rudder.
@Jetpainter I know that you have more experience than I do when it comes to painting. One thing that I have learnt on hiding seams with STITS that with automotive putties I had no end of problems. Then old timer some years back told me to use the brush coat from stits and mix in talcum powder it worked great and I have never looked back it has always work with never any problems. And it smells good when you sand it.
I've been sanding for the last few evenings and have all the tail surfaces, ailerons, and one wing ready to paint. I plan to finish the second wing tonight then I have to make a hatch to cover the tuned pipe exit in the fuse. After that I'll get the fuselage sanded.
