The glass cloth would not lay down in the louvers. If I was making a plug, then a mold, and pulling a part from that I would have had a better chance, but even then to get it thin enough to open up as a louver I think you would need to vacuum bag it.It looks great well done. What happened that you sanded the louvres off the block it looked real good. Was looking forward to see how it comes out it is something that I would also like to try and do. I have always wanted to do it For the bottom of a cowl instead of just a big hole.

I'm not sure the Culp would be my first choice for a fiberglass fuselage. Getting the stringers right in the plug would be a huge challenge. The green Culp, which is my favorite, has a lot more stringers than the other ones. I do love the Culp though.Ooh, a composite Culp Special? That could be intemaresting
