.......Love when the glow guys lift their planes off the table and swing 'em around over their heads to test the tune and in the process point it at every one in the pits. Glad I never did that when I was glowtarded. ;)

LOL, just read this, I do this with all my 35% planes today, don't you?:epic:

All this talk about quads has me itchin for a four banger in something. Can't wait to see some vids and hear flight reports Stang.

Wonder if there are any dealers around that have a quad in stock? :way_to_go:

Speaking of that, I would to make sure we have all the up to date information on the ZDZ's as far as exhaust dimensions and such. It looks like there are a lot more variety of twins and 4 cylinders then ZDZ ever had before or atleast that were offered here in the U.S.

Getting closer... finishing up some details on the airframe. Still not pleased with the supplied exhaust DLA sends with the 128. I talked with @Kevin-Young from Jtec. Seriously considering having them make me custom smoke mufflers. I still may not get the maiden this weekend. Looks to be closer to the following weekend after that. Geez... I just want to fly this thing. Lol

For what it's worth, my PAU with the DLE 111 comes in at 29 lbs., 12 oz. No smoke. Course this does include MTW 75 cans. Swinging the Falcon CF 28x10 at 6600 static. The Pilot Edge made it in at just a tick over 30 with smoke and all the goodies. The 128 is swinging the same prop at 6440 static. Slightly less rpm, but I'm betting a "TON" more grunt. And it is just, well... just so snappy on the throttle response. A guy would almost think it was a single by the way it spools up. I would have liked to see both these planes under 28 lbs., but by the way the PAU flies, I can only imagine how the Edge should wail. The true test and proof will be once it's airborne and flying.

I'm offering the opportunity for everyone to toss an opinion my way.

I've had some set backs on the DLA 128 and have become very undecided on my next move.

Though Lee from Golden Skies has been beyond supportive in every respect of the issues with this motor... and the DLA factory "REALLY" stepped up big time, I just don't have the warm and fuzziness as I did when this venture began.

In short, the 128 tossed a crank and front bearing. There are other issues, but suffice it to say, the motor has gone way south.

The factory has already sent a brand new and updated 128. I've looked it over extremely well. Unlike the first one, it turns over very smooth and friction free. Updated crank, updated cylinders, and I believe the front hub has been massaged. So!!!!

That being said, do I put this replacement motor on the Edge, or swallow my pride and take my lumps and move on?

All your opinions matter.
