DM-4325 motor.

This is simply an AWESOME motor. I have one in my 70" Slick, and it just pulls like a tractor! I love the 20x10 Xoar on this motor, but I've gotta prop down to the 19x8 in the summer's 100+ heat. With the 19x8 I'm running at about 130F in flight, using the spekturm telemetry. It pulls the plane around very well, and actually is very effecient, using only 2700mah of 8s juice for a 6:30-7:00 flight.

+ 1 ∞ !!! :D :D I loved both of mine (traded it for 57" SC...built !!) !

I've had a few different 4325's, couple of 380's, and a 310 when I tried 8s briefly. Went back to 6s, but wanted more speed out of it. Talked to Ken and have now purchased 2 425kv ones. LOVE the 425kv. Much more speed and plenty of power on 6s with an 18x10 prop.
nothing special on the flying here, and I didn't get any hover punchouts, but it's more than the 380 had. I'm very pleased with it.

Better late than never? Picked up a 71" slick dialed in with an Ice 100, CC BEC, MF 4325-280kv, align 610's, and 2 sets of 4s 4000 45-90 nanos (for 8s.) I flew both sets of pack today with a xoar 19x10 and let's just say I was underwhelmed compared to the same slick I had with a DLE-35. I love the MF motor and have a few others in my 57 and 48" birds so no complaints on quality, sound, etc. Is there a better prop for 3d on this motor? I like the idea of having one big E plane in the hangar but not at the expense of performance.

I would try a 20x8.

If all else fails you can sell the 4325 and get a 4330 or 5320.

I had a 4330-435 on my Slick on 6s with a 19x8 prop and it had pretty good power. Not like my 60'' electric planes though

I've read that if you want a lot of power the 5320 on 8s is a sick setup.

Tim,

I had this motor on my 70" Slick before upgrading to the 5320, and I'll say my performance was great, and nearly identical to that of my DLE-30.
The first area I'll suggest is batteries. I'm not a big fan of the nanos, I'm not sure what numbers you're getting with them, but I've found they sag under load easily, and don't ever perform at their published C-rating.
The second area I'll suggest is the Castle Ice 100. You might enure all the settings in there are optimized for max performance on the engine, and if you're still not seeing 2400watts or more, I'd suggest trying a different ESC to see if you get more power through.

Also, I liked the 19x10 for speed, but for 3D, you'd definitely be better off with either the 20x10 or 20x8. The motor can handle the 20x10 with good throttle management, I'd say give it a try.

the 5320 was absolutely insane. definitely a nice upgrade if you ever want to try it.

you need a 20x8 prop with that kv. That will get you around 2200 watts and lots of torque. Also really good harrier flow over the plane for low and slow. i use a carbon 20x8 on mine. You can even go 20x10 but I'm not sure of the roll torque you may or may not get there. i stopped at 20x8 cause i loved it.

I just ran my 4325 -425KV for the first time and I got 100 amps and 2300 watts using a revoelectrix 6s 5500 blended 4.27v per cell and a 19x8 which suprised me because my 4330 is getting the same watts with a 19x10
the only difference is the speed controls the 4325 has a castle ice 120hv and the 4330 has a ZTW 125hv gecko

could the ZTW be holding back some power ? both ESCs are using the stock stettings

Well we do know that ZTW and some of the MF motors don't communicate well. I had to remove the Gecko from my plane due to VERY sluggish throttle response with the MF 4330. It's my understanding though, that ZTW has updated the firmware so they work correctly now. You might try updating the ZTW.
