Sport JTEC RADIOWAVE 26% Pitts Model 12

I use 1/8" copper tube, wrap several time's around the muffler or header as close to the head exit as possible. The end of the tube that goes into the header gets closed up and I drill a 1/64 hole on the side, mark the hole side and make sure it points in the direction of the exhaust flow. I had a conversation with Super-Dri about our app and wrapping, they said in our application we can't over heat the oil so wrap away. If your running a standard or pitts style exhaust just wrap the can.
So I have a Pitts style muffler in my sukhoi and have been thinking of putting smoke on it since I have all the stuff to do it. You say wrap around the can portion of the muffler. How many wraps should I do or just get as many wraps as I can on it. Then I think it has a port built into it for smoke so I guess I could connect between the port and the pre heater coil with a short length of silicone tubing.

Does that sound ok or do you have a better idea?

Yep, as many wraps as you want or can, the more the better. I have one muff with ten wraps around the can.

Damn you.... you're going to make me want to put smoke on the Pitts. I'm just wondering where I can put a tank. And what size? Maybe a 16 in the can tunnel???

Just trying to give ya some inspiration ;)

The 35% is built differently than the 26% but I put mine directly on top of the fuel tank. I'm using a 24oz tank in the Pitts, but I only have a 16oz in the Ultimate and get about 6 minutes of smoke.

I didn't get to the striping today as planned. Unexpected visit from my sister from Utah and just wanting to take it a little easy today. But I did get some progress accomplished this evening. I started gluing in the hinges on the upper wing, elevators and rudder. I will finish gluing the lower wing hinges tomorrow. May try to get "some" of the striping done. But probably won't have time to get it all done.

I did get what I feel is pretty good deflection with the control surfaces. Not as much as I wanted on the ailerons, but then again I highly doubt I am going to be doing any hard 3D'ing with the Pitts. However this does bring up a question for all you experienced Bipe owners. Al mentioned to take it easy on the setup and to not put in too much control surface deflection. What do you guys think? Did I get enough? I guess I don't have to program in everything that the control surfaces are capable of. Then again, I have a "very" light touch on my sticks when I fly. I have about 51 degrees on the ailerons, 48 degrees on the elevators and about 50 degress on the rudder of my 260, Sukhoi and Yak and usually always take off and fly with them at this rate, (even though I do have multiple rates programmed in). Landing on the other hand, I usually flip them down to low rates. But I have never owned a Bipe before so I am treading into new waters here. I could use a little input from you guys that have flown Bipes.

Here is what I ended up with.

I would appreciate some input so chime in Bipe owners.

I agree with Waco
My opinion is your throws are massive and will be more than you will actually use.
My Pitts S-1S uses very little throw because of the short fuselage
but then my Ultimate uses more like the mono wing plane.
Your going to love it

The Pitts will take basically half the throw that you normally use with with a mono plane and that is the reason that you don't have to worry about double beveling things like the ailerons.

You have more than enough throw.

For reference here are my high rate surface throws (I fly IMAC style, not 3D but you'll get the point):

Ailerons: 12 degrees up/down
Elevator: 15 degrees up, 10 degrees down
Rudder: 30 degrees left/right (I only use this throw for hammerheads really)
