Wow we have come a long ways from the early days of night flying. I remember my first night flyer was a SIG Kadet LT 40 with three sets of RAM lights. Had to run three extra batteries just for the lights. But alas that plane is no more got shot down night flying at Joe Nall back when we still flew 72mhz.

One I put together last winter. EXTREMELY bright.

I've wanted to build a night flyer but both my clubs fields are "closed at sunset" so it wouldn't get used much.

That is sad because some of the best times to fly are at night. There was one year that I flew more at night than I did during the day.

Tom you can come over to my place and do some night flying. I also wonder if we would be allowed into POR park after dark to fly on the soccer field.

The soccer fields behind the Colonial Heights Technical Center are always an option. Just give me a call and I'll clear out the soccer players.

I dont live in CH anymore.

Point of Rocks park or Marguerite F Christian Elementary School would be the closest open areas for me to fly at.

I'm thinking of putting lights on my QX350 and night flying it in my back yard.
