My 104 Slick,I opened up 2 of the tunnel bays,still have a 3rd if I need it but so far no heat problems.

the bottom of my 120" 3DHS extra 330 LX

in flight temps, peak at 290 F (DA 170 with MTW re3 pipes)

this is what i did to the bottom of the cowl. instead of cutting out a hole, i scored it and turned the "lip" downward, to create a negative pressure air dam. this will help extract the hot air out of the cowl, at the same time, it is not a big "ugly" hole on the bottom.

Will be adding telemetry to see how effective the custom cylinder shrouds cool the engine. About 25 flights and it appears to be doing excellent.

Underside of my SD Extra 260. I also added, (not seen in photo) an air dam just in front of the first set of slots in the fuse. (Left side of photo) No holes in the cowl other than "snorkel" relief for 157CS and exhaust. I did do quite a bit of baffling in side the cowl however. Seems to be working superb.
