I dont think it was shipping costs as the rudder and elevator had balsa in the holes but were cut. I have all these round plugs now so i guess if you wanted not to have the holes you could run thin CA in the seams.

Hi I worked on the plane for a while today and am ready to start assembling the wing dispite a small mishap when i laminated the #3 rib wrong so I had to cut a new rib and was able to save the ply parts. I will attach the ribs to the spar tomorrow. 2014-08-30 22.03.52.jpg2014-08-30 22.03.59.jpg2014-08-30 22.04.06.jpg2014-08-30 22.05.57.jpg

Gotta keep in mind the wings are built upside down. I think I checked lay out and markings at least 5 times before I put glue on anything. It almost tripped me up a few times, but fortunately that was caught before glue was put down.

It says put shear webing lanels butween the upper and lower wing spar and the plans indicate P406W25 but cant find anything that corresponds to that. Do you just cut them out of 1/16 Balsa stock? I.m afraid to start cutting without knowing I'm using the correst panel. I might just go over to my warehouse and see if I have some 1/16th stock.

I believe mine were wrap in a strip of clear plastic. Be sure to put the grain vertical as it ads rigidity.

Thanks I found them lose in the box but were wraped in plastic, It would be nice if kit manufacturers would lable parts clearly instead of builders trying to identify indescript parts by their shape or just guessing sometime. Reminds me when I was a kid I bought a model kit of an airplane and when I got it home opened and there were three square blacks of balsa in it and the instructions said just take a knife and carve an airplane???? Anyway I got the shear webs glued in today with the grain vertical. Thanks a lot rcdude07 for the help I know I will be needing some more as it has been a long time since I have constructed one of these. I am really enjoying building it. I even have gotten a neighbor interested in flying and he bought a derlict plane that was cast off by a kid and is getting it airworthy.
