Happy Easter to everyone out there.
Wasn't happy with the dash pad I had made, just didn't compliment the dash panel. Came across the photo below on Trade-a-Plane and thought I can do that, this will eliminate the need to stretch the material. Making a new balsa wood cover, the previous ones were 3/16" thick pieces about 5" long edge glued together, had a hard time getting a nice radius while sanding across the grain and around the dach cover. This time laminating 3 pieces of 1/16" sheeting together to form the curves, hoping it is easier to sand the radius. The center seam is sewn to the contour of the edge of the dash pad so hopefully it glues down without any puckering. We shall see.

TonyHallo

My sewing skills were not up to the task so I ended up covering it with one piece, found different material at the local JoAnn Fabrics before it closed it's doors. Was able to glue the top then stretch the material around the nose with a heat gun set at 200 f. It's not perfect but better than the previous. I like it.
Still trying to figure out the seats, the red and white peel coat is out, thinking gray and white now, better semi gloss finish. Current plan subject to change, install the piping, paint the seats gray, then brush the white panel. Of course this may (Probably) change!
Weather looking good, may shot primer soon, today I'm taking the Super Cub out flying, first chance this season.
