    Carb & Fuel Flow Question

Ordered a new carb last night from DA. Should have time next weekend to play with it some more although I should figure out the comment someone made about spraying cleaner somewhere the check a check valve. Haven't tried that yet.

    Troubleshooting Rotary Valves

Thanks for the reply. Reading about rotary valves it didn't seem like there was much there to check but figured it didn't hurt to ask. If the engine is coming off the plane again it is definitely getting a new carb before it goes back on. The only other thing I might try is to raise the...

    Troubleshooting Rotary Valves

Hi All, The ZDZ 80 problems continue. :( Opened up and cleaned the carb, put in a donor diaphragm, and the engine will run off the primer charge from the choke but then die after a second or two. The engine has rotary valves which I understand a bit but is there anything that needs to be...

    Carb & Fuel Flow Question

i stopped by the local small engine repair shop and the guy hooked me up with a pump diaphragm from a Tillotson carb. He seemed to think that it would work just like the original Bing carb worked. The holes didn't line up exactly but it was close enough so I'll give it a try, maybe tomorrow...

    Carb & Fuel Flow Question

I can see how you'd think that the diaphragm is the pump, I thought it was the pressure pulses from the piston/case that worked on the diaphragm to make it pulsate and move fuel from the tank. Thanks for all the info @49dimes, I'm going to order a new carb tomorrow. Parts aren't available for...

    Carb & Fuel Flow Question

Would anyone happen to have a fresh pump diaphragm to compare to the pic below? It looks like the membrane of the pump should be tighter, no? Thanks!

    Discussion Flap/Elevator mix a' la C/L Stunt

interesting explanation from RCU http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/2506076-post4.html the flaps being put out help keep the wing from stalling making very abrupt, very sharp corners possible. probably not much there to make things fun for the average RC guy although I like the part about the mix...

    Carb & Fuel Flow Question

Thanks for the help so far guys. The go to carb back in the day was the Walbro WJ-71 which then became the WJ-71-1 which was then discontinued........but........according to Walbro email customer service, it is still sold as a Husqvarna carb, made by Walbro. @49dimes I'm not a carb expert...

    Carb & Fuel Flow Question

5 flips of the prop, full throttle, choke closed, ignition off 5 flips, full throttle, choke open, ignition off flip until it starts with choke open, idle throttle, ignition on it works, engine starts right up but then dies. pump diaphragm doesn't have a hole in it but it's not tight so I...

    Carb & Fuel Flow Question

Now that the engine and carb are good and wet the fuel isn't running back anymore but I'm stuck with the ZDZ/Bing problem now where it runs a second or two and dies. Doing the 5-5-1 method which works to get it running but it won't stay running.

    Carb & Fuel Flow Question

Hi all, Today is the day to finally start the ZDZ RV 80 that came on the hundy buck Cap 232 that I basically adopted last winter. Here's the thing, with the choke closed it sucked up fuel into the line almost immediately but when I stopped flipping the prop, the fuel ran back into the tank...

I found a utility that will enable Autocad R14 to be installed on a Win 10 laptop but I'll look at the other suggestions posted. https://blog.longbowsoftware.com/ Thanks

What are you using for CAD Chris? I've got Autocad R14 on a disc but it isn't compatible with Windows 10 so I'm SOL.

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

@Snoopy1 is that your design? Was it based on anything specific? I see the elevator goes to the tip of the horizontal stabilizer and is more than half of the chord. With those proportions, when the elevator deflects it changes the angle of attack of the elevator drastically. I just crashed...
