The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

I know the feeling. I sold a kit yesterday and will be posting a ton of stuff for sale. Got a car to fund building.

I was only able to see it with the naked eye for a very brief few minutes. That picture was just me snapping a pic of the screen on the DSLR after doing a long exposure. Still not that great since my neighbors have big dusk to dawn lights out so leaving the shutter open long enough to get the...

Scale 20cc Edge 540 Profile “The Glitter”

Thanks for the input there. I did not experience this on the 55cc version but could be from it being bigger and a bit slower in its moves. If your fix holds up then please let me know and I can make changes to the drawings. Otherwise I have a different idea that could help solve it.

Sounds about like how I would describe flying any of the other size glitters I have built and flown. It likes to be pushed and from what I have found as long as you dont push it into the ground it will keep asking for more. Never found any bad habits in the plane. I have had one other friend...

Just wait until your kid is a touch older then that song will never leave your head. Both that one and "Into the Unknown" from Frozen 2

Yup that's her. A week from today she will be 2-1/2. Time is flying. She is still petite but she eats pretty much everything you put in front of her, will try to do pretty much anything, and talking up a storm. At her two year check up the dr. said she had the vocabulary of a 3 year old and i...

Brought the mustang home with me yesterday. First order of business was getting it cleaned up. It took two baths, first with the pressure washer then actual soap and water. Not pictured is where I got two trash bags worth of drink bottles, and other random crap out of the interior. Was pretty...

Funny because I have had plenty in a couple of groups for these years mustangs tell me to forget it and its not worth doing the swap from v6 to v8 and just start with a v8 car as I will have to upgrade all the suspension and other stuff. They dont get it when I say even if it was a GT all that...

LOL no 3W and it wont stay for long. Plan to get car driving again and start accumulating parts. Thinking a 302 bored and stroked to 347 would be sweet.

@stangflyer I'm picking up a Mustang in the next couple of weeks. May not be the ones your after though. Will be nice to have a project car in the stable again. Just V6 Automatic car but that will change with time. Belongs to a coworker currently but he told me to come get it out of his yard and...

Basically where I drew the red dot on my layout for the foamy version of this plane.

With all the other size glitters I have built a good starting point for the CG is to pinch the fuse right where the canopy meets the forward section of the fuse.

If you are getting nice clean cuts each time it is less important to plane it after each cut

Try now. I thought any autoCAD should open it but I think I saw another problem. Got a new laptop at work and no longer running my student version of AutoCAD instead I'm running the AutoCAD Mechanical 2020 version that is part of our package at work. Hopefully it works now.

I’ve never tried cutting sheet goods as the bandsaw I have isn’t good enough. I do cut all my own sticks and tristock though.

My personal preference is any profile I built that is over 20cc will get a sheeted foam fuse. A buddy of mine has the WWRC 55cc extra that is a built up fuse. Even with him beefing up the fuse in key spots the tail still chases the wing in rolling maneuvers. I do think the foam fuse builds out...
