The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Like you I struggle to constantly fly five planes much less the six I have. I have two 35%ers, the 88" Edge, and three profiles. My normal policy is that I never get another plane unless I get rid of one. I built a profile this winter so one will have to go this year to keep me at five. Having...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

I have a DLE 55 keeping the bench warm that could be dropped into something, but I have to stay away from any more planes! I don't have that many, but I find it challenging to fly all the planes I have now. My EF 88" Edge only has a handful of flights on it and looks like it was just taken out...

I’m going out flying thread 2019

I am a member at one club that is really small (under 15 members) and we deal with very little funds. We keep the membership low, but at times wished there were more members so we would have more money. It is my understanding that club has run for well over 30 years without hardly an issue one...

I’m going out flying thread 2019

You have probably also seen the club member that thinks he knows everything there is to know about everything, butts in to every conversation, and you could NEVER in a zillion years know as much as he does? I find that those folks are often stuck in the ice ages and mainly more concerned about...

That must have really been bad to have to approach him and tell him that.

Hard to keep BS out of clubs unless you keep membership numbers down really low and somehow scrutinize to the inth degree! I have found the dynamics of ONE member can change an entire club and can add a serious level of BS. In the old days we use to call them "pot stirrers" because their...

Definitely a lot of balsa there. The sad thing is older RC stuff doesn't carry much value unless you find someone that is looking for something specifically. Not too long ago we had a fellow member pass away in the nineties in one of our clubs and he had a huge amount of RC stuff that he had...

Express Pawn and Gun Aerobatic Team

Winning the lottery brings people into your life you NEVER knew - long lost cousins, uncles, aunts, etc., might even find you have different mothers and fathers that want to show you DNA results! How many people want a piece of that pie. :money_talks:

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Even though working on cars is not my profession these days, I still work on my own cars when needed. I put a C-V front shaft in last weekend. I have a shop that I can get my car in and can do most anything that needs to be done, but sometimes if I am really busy and don't want to work on them...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Most of the time your "pals" would flee when it was cold and there was work to do. For some reason, you could not find them. It is amazing we actually got anything fixed in the cold because you basically had little to no feeling in your fingers. I would state that I miss those days, but I don't...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

I have certainly done my share of mechanic work in the cold! I have put water pumps on in the snow, worked on cranes in the snow, dozers, cars, tractors, trucks, etc. I moved into Information Technology quite a number of years ago and I am SOOOOO glad those days of working in the elements are...

I am surprised that you don't see the Kuza servo arms as much as you do the fuel tanks. They look like quality arms.

I re-read your post and I think both of my DA 120s are well over 6 years old. I have not sent either one of mine back to DA, but was thinking maybe next winter I will do that.

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

I think the perceived "roughness" is because the transition between the DA100 and the DA120 are different and of course the extra power comes into play as well as prop setups. If you take the extra power alone, that would do it. My DA100 (not L) seems to be always silky sewing machine smooth...

New Product 60cc laser-88" prototype testing

I had some of the same thoughts when I watched the video.

The I'm NOT going out flying thread.

We get enough snow here in VA to suit me. As I have gotten older I simply don't care for it much at all, especially the ice. I definitely do not like it when the temps drop down in the teens!

Wing surface area really looks small on that plane, but lasers are probably like that.

I’m going out flying thread 2019

Around here we have to pick our days for flying. Some winters we can fly off and on all winter. Some we hardly get any flying time in. This past weekend was snow, sleet, and quite a bit of ice, but in my area we are fortunate in that we were on the edge and did not get much at all. Many around...
