Wayne, Thanks for the input. I did exactly what you explained last night and still no luck. I am going to compare the output of the GP and DLE tach ports, voltage wise, and see what the difference is. I have some 4.7k resistors and may try to configure the setup like the DA configuration and...

Flew the Extra with the 29x12 standard 3 blade. It was better but, still not enough pull on the uplines :-( I think I am going to throw the 30x13W falcon back on and see if I can figure out the throttle a bit better. I love the way it pulls but, it rips so easy. I have to figure something out to...

So I went home for lunch and pulled the Edge out of the trailer with a dle170 on it and a Jeti EX R9 rx. I plugged the mrpm-ac into the EXT port, which is different from the CB200, where it is plugged into Pin14/Ext3, and it worked like a champ. So, tonight I am going to try it in the EXT1 port...

Wayne, The issue with hooking the tachs up was due to people using life batteries to power the ignitions. The ignition needs a solid 6.6 volt input in order to use the tach port reliably. I am running 2s lipo and have never had an issue :-)

I was thinking the same thing about the hobby. Might be some really good deals on a couple of 40% planes shortly.

@wfield0455 is the gp ignition an older one? I have one of the newest ones designed for the 176EVO. According to Ken Crane, these were made differently than earlier ignitions so, that may be the issue. The Jeti module may just be that sensitive. I guess I could hook it up to the Edge with the...

I programmed the tach unit but, still no rpm reading. I checked the voltages with the ignition on and I have 5 vdc on both the red and white leads from the ignition. I will stop by radio shack and pick up a 4.7k resistor and try the da setup but, I am not real hopeful that it will work because...

Helped my daughter work on her 3DHS 61" 330LT. She got the servos in all of the surfaces and we got them trimmed out. Now to mount the motor and get it flown.

@scruffmeister I actually have the module plugged into the CB200 on pin 14. Do I need to plug it into a rx to make the changes? I will exeriment with it tonight :-) Thank you for the insight.

Ok, I have aGP-176EVO with a tach port that drives an RCExcel tach just fine. I ordered the mrpm-ac and configured it as though it was a dle ignition with tach port and no luck. I swapped the connector around and still nothing. I have the red wire from the module connected to the white wire from...

Drilled the 29 x 12 3 blade standard and gave it a shot. Turned a solid 5650 so I think I am in the ball park. I was hoping to get to the field sometime tomorrow but, just looked at the forecast and starting at 9am all the way through 8pm scattered thunderstorms! Looks like Thursday is the...

Sorry no pictures. I tore the 176EVO apart and replaced the front bearing/seal because it was leaking oil :( In the process I made sure everything was cleaned up and tightly sealed. Now magically the temperatures are within 5 to 10 degrees of each other instead of 40 to 60 degrees different when...

    SOLD! Mezjlik 29 x 12 EVO 3 blade

Couldn't remember if 3W used 5 or 6mm on the larger engines.

    Mixing question

I am pretty sure it is not related to incidence. The full throttle chop and excelleration tests produce no ill effects at all. I am thinking I just need to rebalance the plane and set it up just a tad on the nose heavy side and work with it from there :-)

@TazmanianDevil not a problem. I thought it would work also. I have a prop on the way that should work. It is a standard 29x12 mezjlik.

    For Sale Mejzlik props

Thanks for the prop Adi! It is a big load on the 176EVO but, I think if I pick up a set of @Planebender smooth pipes I may get the extra 250 to 300 rpm I need to keep the engine in its power range better. Drilling for the GP was a piece of cake.
