    Keep the suggestions coming. PAU was one that I have been looking at. Am I right to think the 118" Carden is too small for this engine?

    Just came into one of these, it is on a new 118" Carden Extra. Plane is not finished and engine has KS pipes and headers with it. Everything is new but not finished. My question is this engine seems a little big for this airframe. I also have a DLE 170, which I thinks is better suited for this...

    I am using aluminum stand offs . I have not tached this yet but she hauls the mail on up lines. I fly at 3500ft. This engine is way smoother than my DA60.

    You will like this set up. I have the 91" Extra with the DA70 on stock muffs and it is a pleasure to fly. Engine is still breaking in but gets better with each flight. I am running a Falcon 25x8 prop, which seems to be perfect for this beast.

    We have 2 contests on our side of the NW region and the nearest one after that is 1200 miles away. I usually go to a contest out of my region to get experience. It would be nice to see a few a little closer. Either way you slice it, even going to the out of region contest it is still a 400 mile...

    Best thing for me was to go to a contest out of town. I learned a ton and had a blast. There are some very knowledgeable people out there. I brought what I learned back to my club and it has made things better for our contests.

    My friend who got this before it met it's end, got the heating issue solved by opening up the cowl and making a lip around the opening. He also got most of the roll coupling issues fixed and the plane was flying great. He just had a bad day when she met her demise, forgot to plug his ailerons in.

    I built one of these but never flew it much as I was at the time afraid of it. Sold it and it died at the hands of someone else. He had some issues with cooling on the 150 and did something different to the cowl to make it cool properly. I will tell him about this thread.
